We are looking for a Key Account Manager who will cover the West Yorkshire region and be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the Sales Strategy by identifying business opportunities from new customers/markets and optimising profit potential through existing customers, whilst ensuring customer satisfaction is continuously improved, and relationships are fostered. Experience with powered access products is a plus and will help you hit the ground running.
Job details:
- Stay updated on the Banner Plant (BP) strategic plan and area-level expectations.
- Align all activities with BP’s short- and long-term sales strategy.
- Promote a “One Banner Plant” ethos across teams.
- Collaborate with Regional Managers and the Sales & Commercial Director to create area plans with SMART objectives and KPIs.
- Contribute to the business development budget and monitor it within authority limits.
- Provide timely updates, forecasts, and reports on business development activities.
- Participate in regular performance feedback meetings and take ownership of personal development.
- Offer new ideas and solutions to support the area and BP strategy.
- Share learnings, experiences, and best practices across the team.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to meet business development goals.
- Maintain knowledge of the geographical area, competitors, and market conditions.
- Stay informed about changes in products, services, policies, and legal frameworks.
- Use external resources (e.g., Glenigan) for prospecting and market research.
- Identify opportunities to enhance BP’s brand through marketing activities.
- Collaborate with central services.
- Support a consistent, customer-focused sales cycle (prospect to account management).
- Provide input to improve sales practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Create dynamic sales presentations and proposals for complex deals.
- Negotiate contracts and framework agreements within agreed parameters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Develop key account plans and maintain regular contact.
- Provide guidance and support to customers on products and services.
- Ensure customer queries are resolved within service level agreements.
- Fully utilise and regularly update the CRM system.
- Build a strong external network and attend industry events.
- Foster relationships with providers, partners, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with business processes and governance standards.
- Flag risks or challenges to the Sales & Commercial Director as needed.
