We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Assistant Apprentice to join our Technical team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while working towards a recognised qualification in the construction industry. This apprenticeship will give you practical experience, industry knowledge, and the opportunity to build a long‑term career in housebuilding.
You’ll support the delivery of residential developments from design through to construction, helping ensure our homes are built efficiently, safely and to the highest quality.
Initial responsibilities:- Prepare for and attend internal and external meetings taking accurate and concise minutes
- Build relationships with colleagues, external consultants and statutory bodies
- Log and track requests for information from site and office teams
- Assist in the maintenance and eventually taking the lead in managing the department’s ‘DocHosting’ document storage and issuing system
- Attend training to become proficient in AutoCAD
- Source existing service records ensuring these are maintained
- Assist with preparing planning drawings and technical documentation
- Support engineering design work and Development Delivery Plans
- Help maintain house type designs and technical standards
- Gain an understanding of construction regulations and legislation
- Support site adoption processes, including inspections and reporting
- A Level qualification or equivalent; any other qualifications relevant to the construction industry would be advantageous but by no means mandatory
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiar with the use of MS Office and a willingness to learn new systems
- Enthusiasm, curiosity and a real desire to learn and develop
