We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner to join our Design & Planning team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role will be responsible for promoting and managing the planning elements in both the short and long term to deliver the business plan aligned to our brand values. As planner, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, helping to drive projects forward from early feasibility to detailed planning consent.

Key Responsibilities- Proactively engage with internal teams across functions to understand planning requirements for current and future sites providing clear planning programmes and timescales to support the wider business plan.
- Monitor and interpret national and local planning policy, providing sound commercial recommendations.
- Seek and utilise pre‑application advice to inform land acquisition and planning strategy.
- Prepare, manage and submit planning applications, ensuring high‑quality and timely documentation.
- Coordinate and submit all ancillary applications required to support site start, including discharge of conditions, variations and statutory diversions.
- Maintain accurate planning records, documentation and tracking information.
- Manage external consultants to ensure effective outputs are delivered.
- Develop, deliver and review regular engagement with key stakeholders including planning officers, highways, councillors, local MPs and community groups.
- Prepare and coordinate consultation events that are effective and promote the Stonebridge Homes brand.
- Identify opportunities to promote sites through the Local Plan process.
- Identify risks and delays and proactively implement mitigation strategies providing regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Planning related qualification gained or equivalent experience.
- RTPI qualified.
- Experience of both public and private bodies within Planning Development Control.
- Significant working knowledge of the housebuilding industry.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Understanding of urban design policies.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
