We’re now looking for a Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team in Dronfield, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of plant and access equipment to customer sites across the region.

About the role

As an HGV Driver at Banner Plant, you’ll be responsible for the safe, compliant loading, transportation and unloading of plant and powered access equipment to customer locations. You’ll be a key ambassador for Banner Plant, representing the business professionally on the road, at depots and on customer sites. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in safety, customer service and teamwork, and who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, operational environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely load, transport and unload plant and access machinery to and from customer sites
  • Carry out daily vehicle safety, health and compliance checks, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately
  • Ensure loads are secured correctly and within legal weight limits
  • Work closely with the depot and hire teams to plan efficient, safe and cost‑effective delivery routes
  • Keep customers, the depot and managers informed of any delays or issues
  • Follow all company driving rules, road traffic legislation and site‑specific regulations
  • Demonstrate equipment to customers where required and provide basic guidance and advice
  • Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness, presentation and roadworthiness
  • Champion health, safety and environmental standards at all times

Experience and qualifications required

  • A valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence – essential
  • Up‑to‑date CPC Driver Qualification – preferred
  • Previous experience working with plant machinery – essential
  • Powered access experience – highly desirable
  • Experience loading and unloading plant and/or access equipment
  • A strong understanding of safe driving practices and compliance requirements
  • A practical, reliable and safety‑focused approach to work
  • Good communication skills and a professional, customer‑focused attitude
