We’re the largest schoolwear supplier in the UK. We’re passionate about making every student look and feel great by producing sustainable, affordable, and desirable schoolwear of the highest quality and supporting retailers with the best industry‑leading service. At Banner, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. From the materials we choose to the way we manage energy, waste and transport, we’re continually working to reduce our impact on the planet. We are proud to be a B‑Corp certified business. Achieving this certification was a business‑wide initiative with the cooperation of all our colleagues and we encourage our new starters to contribute in any way they can to this important issue to drive our B Corp journey forward.

The Sustainability Co‑ordinator will report to Sarah Robins, Head of Sustainability, and support Sarah directly in delivering Banner Group’s sustainability strategy, B Corp commitments and wider ESG priorities, including environmental compliance. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of Banner’s sustainability journey. You’ll help turn ideas into action, keep projects moving, support reporting, and help continue to bring sustainability to life across the business. Working closely with teams across Banner — including our brilliant SER Stars (Sustainability Champions), fabulous Community Lead and wider ESG colleagues — you’ll help make a real difference in a sector that values sustainability. You’ll also help us inspire school children, parents, all customers, our colleagues and the communities we support.

Banner is proud to be a shining beacon in our sector for ESG and the only schoolwear supplier/retailer to have proudly established its own charitable Foundation, directly funding projects for underprivileged children and making a positive difference to their lives. One of the features of this role is that there is an opportunity to sign up for an Apprenticeship, should this be of interest to you.

Strategy and delivery support

Supporting the delivery of Banner’s sustainability strategy, action plans, Net Zero and B Corp priorities, focusing on reducing our environmental impact and resource efficiency. Help coordinate sustainability workstreams and keep actions progressing on time. Maintain action logs, trackers and supporting documentation for projects and reporting.

Data collection, analysis and compliance reporting

Collect, organise and maintain sustainability data across energy, waste, water, travel, carbon and suppliers to meet all our environmental compliance reporting. Support internal and external sustainability reporting, updates and ESG dashboards. Help ensure data is accurate, consistent and useful for decision‑making and B Corp requirements.

B Corp support

Support Banner in maintaining and strengthening its Certified B Corp status. Help gather evidence and records for certification, reassessment and continuous improvement. Support internal teams to understand B Corp commitments and how they connect to everyday work.

Cross‑functional engagement

Work with colleagues across Banner, including Operations, Buying, Finance, HR, Marketing, Merchandising, Sales, Procurement and Supply Chain. Support engagement with suppliers and partners to encourage stronger sustainability performance and our internal sustainability champions and structured community programme (Gift of Time) and Banner Foundation. Help build awareness of sustainable behaviours across the organisation.

Communications and engagement

Support sustainability communications, updates and internal engagement activity. Help organise campaigns, awareness days, training sessions, workshops and events. Assist with presentations, newsletters and other communication materials.

Research and continuous improvement

Keep up to date with sustainability trends, legislation, sector developments and best practice relevant to Banner. Support the identification of opportunities to improve Banner’s sustainability performance. Carry out general administrative and coordination support for the sustainability function as needed.
