We are a well-respected, progressive law firm with a strong and growing regional presence. Our Dispute Resolution Department is well established and is now looking to expand. We are seeking an experienced and ambitious solicitor to help develop our offering and enhance our visibility in the Sheffield and Chesterfield market. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and commercially minded solicitor who is looking to take the next step in their career. You will join a busy and expanding department handling a broad range of complex and stimulating disputes, including:
- Property litigation
- Contentious probate and trust disputes
- Contractual and commercial disputes
- Company and shareholder disputes
- Construction disputes
- Professional negligence claims
The role will particularly suit someone who is enthusiastic about business development and comfortable building new relationships with referrers, agents, and other potential work providers. You will play a key part in establishing and growing the department's presence in Sheffield and Chesterfield.
Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload with autonomy but with support as required.
- Providing clear, practical, and commercially focused advice.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other litigation documents.
- Contributing to case strategy and sharing knowledge within the team.
- Supporting or mentoring junior colleagues where required.
- Undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
- Actively participating in business development initiatives and relationship-building in both existing and new markets.
Requirements
- At least 4 years' PQE in dispute resolution.
- Strong technical ability and confidence in managing a busy, varied caseload.
