We’re looking for a Senior Credit Analyst to join our Credit Ratings team, where you’ll play a key role in supporting high‑quality investment decisions across reinsurance and insurance counterparties. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with origination teams, senior stakeholders and governance committees, contributing independent, objective credit analysis that underpins long‑term value for our customers. You’ll take ownership of credit ratings for new and existing transactions, engage with counterparties and internal experts, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of credit methodologies and processes within the team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading independent credit analysis and internal rating assessments for new reinsurance and insurance counterparties
- Partnering closely with origination and deal teams to understand transaction structures, strategy and risk profiles
- Reviewing financial statements, legal documentation, operating plans, industry dynamics and due diligence materials
- Providing early indicative feedback on potential rating outcomes and key credit drivers
- Presenting credit recommendations to Credit Committees and contributing to discussions and decisions
- Monitoring assigned portfolios through annual reviews, ad hoc assessments and ongoing information flow
- Supporting internal rating methodologies, tools and process improvements
- Mentoring junior colleagues and sharing expertise across the wider credit team
Who we’re looking for:
- Significant experience in financial and credit analysis within reinsurance or life insurance, with broader financial institutions exposure an advantage
- Strong understanding of credit risk, transaction structures and counterparty assessment
- Experience working with internal or external credit rating frameworks and methodologies
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, including participation in credit or investment committees
- Ability to analyse trends at both macro and micro levels and assess their interaction
- High attention to detail with clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel capability
- A collaborative mindset, with curiosity, professionalism and a drive to continuously improve processes
