Job Description
We’re recruiting for a Payroll Consultant to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. Are you looking to grow your career in a collaborative and customer‑focused environment? Join our Institutional Retirement – Client Services team, where you’ll help ensure pensioner payrolls transition smoothly and accurately. You’ll be part of a supportive team committed to delivering excellent outcomes for our customers, while developing your skills in a role that values precision, integrity and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing:
- Loading pensioner scheme data and amendments onto the appropriate administration systems
- Managing buy‑in payments and true‑up calculations accurately and within agreed timescales
- Reconciling payments and benefits to ensure they align with benefit specifications
- Supporting the testing and documenting of processes to drive consistency and quality
- Following agreed procedures to maintain robust audit trails across all data items
- Keeping internal teams and relevant third parties informed to support excellent customer outcomes
- Maintaining compliance with key regulatory requirements including GDPR and treating customers fairly
- Working collaboratively across teams to ensure accurate, timely and customer‑focused service delivery
Who we're looking for:
- Experience working with data and confidently using Excel functions
- Experience loading benefits or data into administration systems
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
- Strong customer focus and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Understanding of defined benefit pension schemes (beneficial)
- Knowledge of GDPR, money laundering, complaints handling and related legislation (beneficial)
- Pension or payroll qualifications such as CII, PMI or CPP, or equivalent experience (beneficial)
- A proactive approach to identifying and reducing risks within processes
