A typical day in the life of a Senior HR Advisor:
- Provide clear, practical advice on employment law and HR policies, ensuring consistent and compliant decision‑making across sites.
- Manage end‑to‑end HR cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, sickness, and capability.
- Support and guide managers through investigations, hearings, and formal processes.
- Track case progress, identify trends, and elevate risks where appropriate.
- Build strong working relationships with GMs, RMs, AGMs, and HODs, becoming a trusted point of contact for people‑related matters.
- Develop a strong understanding of site operations to provide tailored HR solutions.
- Attend regional, HR, and GM meetings, contributing insights and recommendations.
- Support managers with succession planning conversations and identifying development needs within their teams.
- Promote best practice in performance management, coaching managers to handle issues early and effectively.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of HR processes and documentation across sites.
- Prepare HR documentation including letters, reports, and case summaries.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes where required.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, recognition programmes, and feedback mechanisms.
- Stay updated on CIPD best practice and employment legislation, applying learning to day‑to‑day work.
- Consistent visibility across health clubs, building strong relationships and providing hands‑on support to managers and teams.
What we are looking for:
- 1-3 years' experience in an HR Advisory or similar people‑focused role.
- CIPD Level 3 or working towards Level 5 (or equivalent experience).
- Strong working knowledge of HR best practice, employment law, and HR policies.
- Confident in managing HR cases with support from HRBPs where needed.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and support managers at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and HR data management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A positive, people‑focused approach with the right attitude, professionalism and behaviours to build trust and strong working relationships, not just the technical experience.
- Required to travel to multiple locations across the region, including occasional overnight stays to support business needs.
- Experience working in a multi‑site or field‑based HR role, ideally within hospitality, leisure or other service‑led environments, along with familiarity with HRIS systems would be an advantage.
