A typical day in the life of a Maintenance Operative:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, fitness equipment.
- Monitoring of preventative maintenance contractors to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment.
- Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly, such as fixing leaks, electrical faults and equipment malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot problems and determine the most effective solutions coordinating with external contractors for certain repairs when necessary.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and club policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments, reporting any hazards or non-compliance issues to the Maintenance Manager/General Manager.
- Ensure all areas of the club, including gym floors, changing rooms, and common areas are clear, orderly and in good repair.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a maintenance role.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
- Excellent problem solving abilities and good attention to detail.
- Physical capability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending and being on your feet for extended periods.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driving licence and own vehicle.
- It would be desirable if you have a diploma or vocational qualification in a related field, along with knowledge and experience in plumbing and joinery.
- It would also be advantageous if you had a 17th Edition Electrical qualification or the equivalent qualification.
