Typical day in the life of a Cafe Bar Manager:
- Oversee daily operation of the cafe bar, ensuring efficient services and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of cafe bar staff, including scheduling training and performance management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting professional growth and development.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure all staff do the same, handle customer inquiries, complaints and feedback professionally.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimising waste.
- Ensure all food and beverages are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
- Develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction.
- Manage the cafe bar budget, controlling costs and maximising profits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe bar, ensuring all areas meet Bannatyne’s high standards, conduct regular checks on equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance issues to the relevant department.
- Handling cash transactions, managing tills and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
- Assist in planning and executing promotional activities to attract members and increase sales.
- Ensuring consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPI’s), such as sales targets, customer satisfaction scores, and operational efficiency, will qualify the Café Bar Manager for a performance-based bonus.
- Required to support the Club and work Duty Management shifts, being responsible for the club during these shifts.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in a cafe or management role within the hospitality or food and beverage industry.
- L2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Good financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Knowledge and experience of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Proactive and results driven, highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
It would be desirable if you had knowledge of theme nights, party nights and organising member events.
