Typical day in the life

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems including; HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, fitness equipment.
  • Monitoring of preventative maintenance contractors to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment.
  • Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly, such as fixing leaks, electrical faults and equipment malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine the most effective solutions coordinating with external contractors for certain repairs when necessary.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and club policies.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments, reporting any hazards or non-compliance issues to the Maintenance Manager/General Manager.
  • Ensure all areas of the club, including gym floors, changing rooms, and common areas are clear, orderly and good repair.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and good attention to detail.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending and being on your feet for extended periods.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driving licence and own vehicle.
  • It would be desirable if you have a diploma or vocational qualification in a related field, along with knowledge and experience in plumbing and joinery.
  • It would also be advantageous if you had a 17th Edition Electrical qualification or the equivalent qualification.
  • Electrical or plumbing qualification would be desirable, as well as experience with swimming pool operations and pool plant training.
