Responsibilities
A typical day in the life of a Membercare Assistant involves:
- Performing thorough cleaning of all areas, including changing rooms, showers, toilets and all poolside facilities.
- Ensuring that gym equipment, floors and surfaces are cleaned and sanitised regularly.
- Emptying trash bins, replacing liners and ensuring waste is disposed of properly.
- Maintaining the outdoor space and litter bins.
- Following all health and safety regulations.
- Using cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety guidelines.
- Reporting any maintenance issues or hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Providing friendly and approachable service to members, addressing cleaning-related inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Maintaining a professional demeanour and upholding the club’s reputation for excellent customer service.
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure adequate stock.
- Performing basic maintenance where skills permit, such as changing bulbs.
- Working closely with other cleaning staff and club employees to maintain the highest standards.
- Participating in team meetings and training sessions as required.

- Previous experience in domestic or cleaning roles

- Ability to establish rapport, build trust and demonstrate credibility
- Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks that involve standing, walking, bending, lifting and using cleaning equipment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays; hours can range from 5.30 am to 10.30 pm
