A typical day in the life of a Hotel Receptionist
- Warmly greet arriving hotel guests, manage the check-in and check-out process, and issue room keys.
- Handle room reservations, amendments, and cancellations accurately using the hotel booking system.
- Direct phone calls, reply to email inquiries, and assist guests with face-to-face queries regarding their stay, room features, and local attractions.
- Provide detailed information about hotel amenities, restaurant options, and on-site spa/leisure facilities.
- Process guest payments, settle accounts, and manage the front desk efficiently.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to monitor room readiness and resolve guest requests promptly.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organised reception area at all times.
- Log all visitors, contractors, and non-resident guests correctly in line with security protocols.
- Complete all relevant compliance and operational training required for the role.
Job Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
