- Typical Day – Maintenance Operative
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool and fitness equipment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor preventive maintenance contractors to ensure longevity and reliability of equipment.
- Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly, such as leaks, electrical faults and equipment malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot problems and determine effective solutions, coordinating with external contractors when necessary.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and club policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments, reporting hazards or non‑compliance to the Maintenance Manager/General Manager.
- Maintain clear, orderly and well‑repaired areas of the club, including gym floors, changing rooms and common areas.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance role.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
- Physical capability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driving licence and own vehicle.
Desirable
- Diploma or vocational qualification in a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in plumbing and joinery.
- 17th Edition Electrical qualification or equivalent.
