Membercare Assistant - Bristol

Job Overview

Bannatyne is looking for a Membercare Assistant to maintain cleanliness and support members in a fitness environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of all gym areas, changing rooms, showers, toilets, and poolside facilities.
• Sanitise gym equipment, floors, and surfaces regularly.
• Empty trash bins, replace liners, and manage waste disposal.
• Maintain outdoor spaces and bins, including litter picks.
• Follow health and safety regulations and use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards or safety concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Provide friendly and approachable service to members and address cleaning‑related inquiries.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment stock.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs where permitted.
• Work closely with cleaning staff and club employees to achieve high standards.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in domestic or cleaning roles.
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer focused attitude.
• Passion for health, wellness and customer service.
• Ability to establish rapport and build trust.
• Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks involving standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of cleaning equipment.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays; shifts from 5:30am to 10:30pm.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is desirable.
