The Financial Controller will play a key leadership role within the Group Finance function, responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strengthening controls, and supporting strategic decision-making across multiple entities within the Group. This role requires a commercially minded finance professional with strong technical expertise, capable of managing a multi-entity environment and driving continuous improvement in financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Control
    • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Parent and Group entities
    • Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant statutory requirements
    • Lead the consolidation of Group accounts and ensure accuracy of intercompany reporting
    • Manage year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors
    • Maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures
  • Management Accounting
    • Deliver timely and accurate management accounts with insightful commentary
    • Provide variance analysis and performance reporting versus budgets and forecasts
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
  • Cashflow & Treasury
    • Monitor Group cash flow and working capital performance
    • Oversee banking relationships, funding arrangements, and cash forecasting
    • Implement strategies to optimise liquidity and manage financial risk
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across the Group
    • Promote a high-performance culture and continuous professional development
    • Ensure clear delegation, accountability, and succession planning
  • Business Partnering
    • Partner with senior management and operational teams to support decision-making
    • Provide financial insight into strategic initiatives, investments, and cost-saving opportunities
    • Support business growth, acquisitions, and integration activities where applicable
  • Compliance & Governance
    • Ensure compliance with local regulations across UK and ROI
    • Maintain strong internal control environment and risk management frameworks
    • Support corporate governance processes and Board reporting
  • Systems & Process Improvement
    • Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting tools, and automation
    • Ensure efficiency and scalability of finance processes across the Group
    • Lead finance-related system implementations or upgrades

Key Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
  • Strong experience in multi-entity/group accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards (UK GAAP / IFRS)
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
