We are currently recruiting for a Reservations Agent to join us here at Bankside Hotel. Bankside Hotel is a place for people who love culture, creativity, food, art, and great hospitality. We are part of Marriott International, joining a global collection of over 9,000 hotels, while still keeping our own distinctive Bankside personality and local spirit. At Bankside, we believe hospitality should feel natural, thoughtful, and full of personality. Our people are at the heart of that. They create the moments that make our guests feel truly welcome, looked after, and like they belong.

As our Reservations Agent, you will play an important part in shaping the guest journey from the very first enquiry. Whether a guest is booking a stay, amending a reservation, asking a question, or planning something special, you will help make the experience seamless, personal, and easy.

What will you be doing?

Your day-to-day role will involve handling individual reservations received by telephone, email, online channels, and through our central reservation systems. You will be responsible for making sure every booking is accurate, every detail is captured, and every guest receives a warm and helpful response. This includes creating and updating bookings, processing confirmations, cancellations and amendments, taking advance deposits, and ensuring all information is communicated clearly with guests and internal teams. You will work closely with our Front of House team, as our Reservations function is now integrated with the wider guest experience journey. This means you will help create one seamless experience from the first reservation enquiry through to arrival, stay, and departure. You will also have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of group reservations, including how to handle enquiries, prepare quotes, support contracts, and understand the full guest booking cycle.

This role would suit someone who has a real eye for detail, enjoys communicating with people, and takes pride in making things feel effortless for guests and colleagues alike.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is positive, open-minded, forward-thinking, and happy to bring their personality to work. Previous experience in reservations, front office, hospitality, or with Marriott systems would be a great advantage, but it is not essential. Full on-the-job training will be provided by our Reservations Supervisor, and you will report directly to the Front of House and Reservations Manager. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in hospitality. You will be someone who can work independently while also knowing that support is always available on site. You will be comfortable dotting the i’s, crossing the t’s, and making sure nothing is missed.

What does it mean to be a Banksider?

At Bankside, our values guide the way we work, the way we support each other, and the way we look after our guests.

  • Be Natural: We want you to be yourself. We are not looking for scripted service or robotic responses. We want someone who can bring warmth, personality, and genuine care into every guest interaction. You should feel comfortable being natural in what you do, taking joy in your work, and creating experiences that feel personal and real.
  • Make It Easy: You will help make the guest journey as seamless as possible. That means communicating clearly, solving problems thoughtfully, and making things easier for both our guests and your colleagues. Whether you are confirming a booking, answering a question, or supporting the Front of House team, your focus will be on creating a smooth and positive experience.
  • Feel Empowered: We want our people to feel trusted and confident to make decisions. You will be encouraged to take ownership, use your initiative, and look for opportunities to surprise and delight our guests. Sometimes the smallest thoughtful gesture can create the most meaningful moment.
  • Belong: At Bankside, we want our team and our guests to feel that they belong. You will be part of a team that values individuality, kindness, collaboration, and a shared passion for hospitality. We are looking for someone who understands the part they play in creating that feeling, both for our guests and for the people they work with every day.

What’s in it for you?

Complimentary dry-cleaned uniform, free meals on duty, medical cash plan, discounted hotel and food.
