A leading UK real estate and investment group is looking to appoint an experienced VAT Manager to join its in-house tax function. This role is working 3 to 2 days in the office Central London. This opportunity would suit an experienced indirect tax professional seeking a commercially focused in-house role within a sizeable and well-established organisation. This is a broad commercial role offering exposure across compliance, advisory and business partnering activities within a complex and fast-moving organisation. Reporting into senior tax leadership, the successful candidate will take ownership of indirect tax matters across the business and work closely with finance, legal and operational stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on UK VAT matters across the group
  • Prepare and review VAT returns and related calculations
  • Support forecasting and reporting requirements
  • Provide practical VAT advice on transactions, property matters and wider commercial activity
  • Partner with finance and operational teams across the business
  • Liaise with HMRC and external advisers where required
  • Identify opportunities to improve VAT processes and controls
  • Monitor legislative and technical VAT developments

Candidate Profile

  • Strong UK VAT technical knowledge gained in-house or within practice
  • Experience managing VAT compliance and advisory matters
  • Confident communicator able to work with non-tax stakeholders
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach
  • Able to manage competing deadlines effectively

Desirable Experience

  • Property or real estate sector exposure
  • Partial exemption experience
