Our client is a FTSE 250-listed financial services technology group, a market leader in the UK wrap platform space. They serve financial advisers and their clients at scale — managing billions in assets under direction across a broad range of tax-efficient wrappers. The tax team is lean, high-calibre and works at the centre of the finance function.
This is an in-house Tax Specialist position, supporting the Group Tax Director across all aspects of group taxation for a listed financial services business. The role combines ownership of compliance across UK corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes and share schemes, with meaningful involvement in the group’s tax governance framework and process improvement agenda.
The right candidate will be technically strong, commercially curious and comfortable working to strict deadlines in a regulated environment. This is a broad, hands-on role, not a one-dimensional CT compliance seat. You only need to have some exposure to CT – the business are looking to train someone into this role.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax returns (essential)
- Desirable experience – quarterly VAT returns, Corporate Interest Restriction returns, PAYE Settlement Agreement returns and Share Scheme returns
- Preparing accurate half year and full year corporate tax provisions for inclusion in management accounts, annual statutory reports and interim market results
- Forecasting and managing quarterly corporation tax instalment payments
- Preparing all annual tax computations, provisions and tax disclosures in the financial statements
- Supporting HMRC payment processing for payroll, pensions and share schemes
- Proactively reviewing the tax control environment and identifying improvements
