Are you ready to step into a vital role as a Data Scientist (junior or senior) and help the team build machine‑learning based systems and scalable solutions? Banking Circle is a fully licensed, technology‑enabled bank processing over €1 trillion in payments every year - and growing. We exist to power the global economy’s most ambitious payments businesses with infrastructure that is fast, modern, and engineered for scale.
Your team welcomes you with open arms. As our new Data Scientist in the Data, Analytics & AI team in Copenhagen or London, you’ll experience an open and knowledge driven culture, where everyone can thrive, connect with colleagues, learn and grow. Here you will be empowered to make an impact every day and take ownership of the solutions you develop.
In this role you will play a key role in developing modern, machine learning–based systems at the core of the bank's operations. Models to detect suspicious financial transactions, assess client risk, predict client behaviour, assist and automate operations and tools to enable analysts to understand the model outputs.
We offer a hybrid work model for our employees to allow for flexibility and productivity. Exciting work is waiting for you:
- Implementing cutting edge ML models at the limit of their scalability.
- Take part in building scalable solutions as payment volumes are constantly growing.
- Identification of new use cases, actively seeking ways to use ML to improve the business and drive the design and implementation of solutions.
- Take part in driving the analytics adoption across the organization.
Things we’ll look for on your resume:
We are looking for a technically strong candidate with a solid academic background in engineering or mathematics, and hands‑on experience in Python and machine learning. The ideal profile has at least 3 years of relevant experience and combines expertise in modern ML frameworks with solid software engineering practices, enabling end‑to‑end development and deployment of data‑driven solutions.
We value quality code, cake and coffee. In this role you own the solution and have a strong interest in building scalable systems, leveraging data analytics, and applying machine learning to real‑world challenges. We solve problems from start to finish, identifying and quantifying the business value, implementing the ML system including monitoring and defining operations playbook and interfaces to other parts of the organisation.
We work on a diverse set of ML problems. We are looking to reinforce the team in three specific areas. The ideal candidate would possess deep expertise in at least two of these domains:
- Network / Graph Analysis
- Experience with graph databases and tools (Neo4j, Memgraph, NetworkX)
- Query languages such as Cypher
- Graph embeddings and network‑based machine learning
- Operating and scaling large graph datasets
- Geospatial Analytics
- Address validation and geolocation
- Working with OpenStreetMap / Google and related tooling
- Spatial data processing and enrichment
- Modern LLM‑based approaches (embeddings, retrieval, prompting)
- Building and evaluating production‑grade LLM solutions
