About the Role:
As a Rehabilitation Support Worker in our Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation (RAAR) service, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients with complex needs—such as head injuries, spinal cord injuries, and polytrauma—on their journey to recovery. Working alongside a dynamic team of therapists, nurses, and consultants, you’ll assist in delivering high-quality, compassionate care that empowers patients to regain independence.
What You’ll Do:
- Support therapists and nurses with assessments, treatments, and daily care activities.
- Deliver delegated therapy interventions and functional assessments.
- Assist patients with personal care, mobility, and rehabilitation exercises.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the therapy service through admin and organisational tasks.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Who You’ll Work With:
You’ll collaborate closely with:
- Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists
- Nurses, Neuropsychologists, Rehab Consultants
- External partners like Headway, Age UK, and the Spinal Injuries Association
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in English, Maths, and Science (NVQ Level 3 desirable)
- Experience providing therapy interventions prescribed by Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech & Language Therapists to complex neuro trauma patients and with supporting patients with personal care activities (washing, dressing, toileting, eating etc)
- Experience in healthcare or rehabilitation settings (especially neuro or trauma rehab is a plus)
- At least 6 months paid NHS experience in the last 3 years
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- A team player with a compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Willingness to work flexible hours
Working Pattern:
This role is available until 26/09/2025. Shifts will be 8am-4am Monday to Friday.
