The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is searching for an experienced and passionate Band 6 CT Radiographer to join their highly skilled team. The Isle of Wight NHS Trust provides physical health, mental health and ambulance services for the Isle of Wight. It is unique in being the only integrated acute, community, mental health and ambulance provider in England. The Trust was established in April 2012 as the only fully integrated provider of health services to an isolated offshore population of 140,000.

Job Purpose

Conduct a wide range of CT scans on a variety of patient types, both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi‑professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements. Participate in the out of hours on call rota. Radiographers practice will involve lone working in particular specialties and times. Patient presentation includes the unconscious, uncooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, disorientated and those with physical and mental disabilities, including anti‑social behaviour patients and prisoners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in and manage workflow and ensure all data inputs are recorded for patient record integrity and statistical evaluation purposes.
  • Supervise, assist and train students and assistant staff in both service delivery and individual development needs.
  • Encourage the highest professional and technical standards in all staff through personal example and constructive supervision.
  • Demonstrate partnership in professional development issues, maintaining a high level of technical and theoretical skills through personal CPD.

Requirements

  • Diploma of College of Radiographers or BSc equivalent.
  • State registration with the Health & Care Profession Council.
  • Extensive knowledge of Clinical Governance within the NHS.
  • Evidence of multidisciplinary team working.
  • Experience in CT/MR.
  • Experience in student supervision.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
