Isle Of Wight NHS Trust are recruiting for an experienced Band Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to join their highly skilled team. The Trust was established in April 2012 as the only fully integrated provider of health services to an isolated offshore population of 140,000.
Job Purpose: The purpose of an advanced clinical pharmacist is to provide high quality clinical pharmacy services within the Trust. Post holders are expected to work with their own initiative, within guidelines and directions from the Pharmacy Leadership Team and to supervise wider members of the pharmacy team as required. Post holders may also have the opportunity to be involved in policy writing, the undertaking and initiation of audits and active involvement in training and development of pharmacy team members and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a pharmacist providing a clinical pharmaceutical service involving specialist/complex/high risk secondary care patients.
- Utilise pharmaceutical expertise, working in partnership with patients, carers and healthcare professionals to minimise medicines-related harm and facilitating medicines optimisation.
- Contribute to the wider pharmacy service in both a clinical and day to day leadership role.
- Be prepared to operate across a range of hours including evening and/or 7 day working, as agreed between post-holders and their line manager.
- Operate in accordance with the Trust’s values, mission and written control documents.
Requirements:
- Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree or equivalent.
- Current listing on the Pharmacist Register with the GPhC.
- Diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent experience.
- Completed general level framework competency training or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Significant clinical pharmacy knowledge and experience.
- Significant experience of working in hospital pharmacy.
- Knowledge of national guidelines relating to medicines and pharmaceutical practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience in clinical speciality.
- Able to work at a continuous level of high concentration.
- Excellent time management.
