The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Band 6 Special School Nurse to join their highly skilled Special School Nursing Team based in Enfield, working across 7 SEN schools in the borough.
The special school nurse will support children who are within 7 of Enfield's special schools. To be a key professional working alongside the multidisciplinary team (MDT), to provide a full range of services for the individual child & family. To be an expert clinical children's nurse to meet the needs of a diverse and challenging group of children and young people. To assess and review children and young adults who may require medical intervention or follow-up care or treatment and assist in the transition process to adult services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- RSCN or Child Branch Qualification (or equivalent).
- Learning Disability Qualified preferably.
- Community nursing degree or be willing to work towards this in post.
- ENB 988 or equivalent teaching and assessing course.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Community nursing experience.
- Multi-agency & multidisciplinary work experience.
- Relevant post registration experience as a children's nurse, including acute experience.
- Experience or working with children with special needs & complex health care needs in a school setting.
- Knowledge of Child Protection procedures.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children's issues.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Team Player.
- Adaptable to meet the needs of the service.
- Full Driving License, for disabled applicants' alternative arrangements may be arranged if necessary.
- Knowledge of current legislation affecting children's services.
