Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust (MEH) are searching for a passionate and driven Band 6 Senior M&E Technician to join their highly skilled team. MEH is a specialist National Health Service (NHS) eye hospital in Finsbury, run by Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust together with the UCLH Institute of Ophthalmology. It is the oldest and largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, teaching and research in Europe.

The role of the Senior M&E Technician is to support the Estates Hard FM Manager in ensuring Trusts electrical/mechanical equipment is maintained to statutory and mandatory standards, which will ensure a well maintained safe and secure environment for our patients, staff and visitors. Mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) engineering duties include but are not limited to:

  • PPM planning
  • Contracts and service delivery management
  • Authorized person duties (medical gas PMGS, LV, ventilation or pressurized systems) contractors operational responsibility
  • An all round knowledge of M&E plant, LV systems, BMS systems, air conditioning (FCU/AHU), HVAC, plumbing, lighting, small installation, emergency lighting tests, chillers, water treatment etc.
  • Experience on steam, autoclaves, sterilizer, fire alarm, vacuum waste/toilet generators, FCU would be beneficial

Ensure that the permit to work is in place and adhered to so that contractors and colleagues work safely at all times. Able to participate in the on call as per required – additional payment.

  • Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
  • Ability to problem solve
