Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust (MEH) are searching for a passionate and driven Band 6 Radiographer to join their highly skilled team. MEH is a specialist National Health Service (NHS) eye hospital in Finsbury, run by Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust. Together with the UCLH Institute of Ophthalmology which is adjacent to the hospital, it is the oldest and largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, teaching and research in Europe.

The Role

As a Radiographer, you would be expected to assist and support the X‐Ray and CT service by producing high quality images and a safe environment for staff and patients. You will also complete the in‐house training and then perform the interventional procedure Dacrocystogram, and also share responsibility with the Radiographers for the transfer of images to and from the Trust's PACS system for the purposes of second opinions and MDT preparation.

Requirements

  • A BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent, and active, valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Strong working knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques to safely justify and conduct examinations.
  • Strict compliance with statutory regulations such as IR(ME)R 2017 (Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations).
  • Technical proficiency using Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams to obtain correct images and explain procedures.
  • Capability to assess clinical situations quickly, adapt imaging techniques as needed, and prioritise workloads under pressure.
  • Required manual dexterity to operate complex machinery, position patients, and use manual handling aids safely.
  • Compassionate, friendly, and approachable manner, with a strong commitment to patient dignity, privacy, and equality.
