University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) are seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Nursing Assistant to join their highly skilled Young People's Endocrine Service team. UCLH is one of the most complex NHS trusts in the UK, serving a large and diverse population. Please note: This is a fixed term contract for one year. The hours are 18.75 hr/week, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Senior Nursing Assistant will work as part of the department team under the supervision of registered nurses and clinical team and will:
- Participate in the delivery of patient care
- Give support to registered nurses and clinical team
- Contribute toward ward/department organization
- Be independent in managing the other non-medical needs of patients like transport, hotel booking, and meal vouchers
- Be able to do basic administrative related jobs like being a receptionist when the need arises, admitting and discharging patients on EPR and help in the filing of medical notes
- Be involved in risk assessment and ensuring the safety of both the patients and the staff
- Be able to identify and react effectively and promptly to an emergency
Important Requirements:
- 6 months of Senior Nursing Assistant experience in the last 3 years for the NHS
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A caring, empathetic approach to all patients
- A proactive and professional work ethic
