Robotic Theatre Nurse Practitioner to join their highly skilled team at West Moorland Street.
UCLH is one of the most complex NHS trusts in the UK, serving a large and diverse population.

We provide academically-led acute and specialist services, to people from the local area, from throughout the United Kingdom and overseas.
Job Purpose
To provide safe, effective, and high-quality perioperative care for patients undergoing robotic-assisted surgery.
The role includes preparing and managing robotic equipment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Duties
- Act as scrub nurse/practitioner or circulating nurse/practitioner during robotic procedures (Urology)
- Prepare the operating theatre, including sterile instruments and robotic systems
- Assist in positioning and draping patients safely for robotic surgery
- Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments accurately
- Maintain aseptic technique at all times
- Robotic System Management
- Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot robotic surgical systems (e. g., da Vinci Surgical System)
- Ensure all robotic instruments and accessories are functioning correctly
- Coordinate docking and undocking of the robotic system
- Recognise and respond to technical faults during procedures
- Patient Safety & Care
- Monitor patient condition in collaboration with anaesthetic and surgical teams
- Ensure WHO surgical safety checklist compliance
- Advocate for patient safety and dignity at all times
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Registered Operating Department Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Experience in operating theatre settings (scrub)
- Training in robotic surgery systems
- Evidence of continuing professional development
