What Is The Opportunity
The role offers exposure to senior executives across BOIUK and Group, playing a key part in ensuring the safe delivery of UK and Group Risk strategic objectives.
In This Role You Will
- Undertake reviews at all BOIUK units as determined by the risk assurance programme to identify conduct, regulatory, financial crime, and operational risks, risk-rating their impact using in-house processes and methodologies.
- Scope activities and analyze adherence to procedures, controls, and evidence retention.
- Ensure findings are documented in reports, making decisions on risk-rating and report content.
- Track remediation plans to address risk issues, escalating when necessary.
- Gather accurate information during reviews and maintain open engagement with the business.
- Develop contacts within the business and Risk Partner community to build relationships.
- Identify new or changing business areas for potential inclusion in risk assurance activities.
- Update records and reports regularly, analyzing system data and providing commentary.
- Contribute to the development of risk assurance techniques and procedures.
- Ensure reviews are efficient, leveraging data analysis and suggesting improvements.
- Maintain awareness of UK regulations and external practices for risk assessment.
- Train and mentor colleagues and business staff, sharing assurance best practices.
- Act as an internal consultant to facilitate understanding and share best practices based on review findings.
What Will Make Me Stand Out
- Good knowledge of UK Financial Services regulations, Codes of Practice, and products.
- Minimum 2 years\’ experience in risk, compliance, or audit within Financial Services.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Analytical skills and knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Ability to meet occasional travel requirements.
