The Data and Statistics Division (DSD) is the Bank’s centre of expertise for the collection, compilation, dissemination, and publication of regulatory and statistical data. As part of this, DSD encourages innovation and promotes quality to support analysis, policy and decision-making by the Bank’s various committees, as well as UK government departments and international organisations. DSD collects data from banks and buildings societies, credit unions, insurance companies, regulated mortgage lenders and mortgage administrators. This is done via nearly 40 statistical collections and over 200 regulatory collections. We cleanse a sizeable proportion of these datasets and publish a large volume of statistical data via our interactive database. We support the Bank’s policy committees and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) Board. Our data are used in a number of publications, such as the Monetary Policy Report, Financial Stability Report, Credit Conditions Survey, Stress Test Results, FPC Core Indicators, and Quarterly Bulletins.

The Division is seeking to appoint a Senior Manager to lead its Regulatory Data Group (RDG). The RDG Senior Manager will work closely with the DSD Leadership Team to support the division’s strategic direction. This is an exciting period of change for DSD, leading and feeding into multiple Data Transformation Programmes and delivery of the Bank wide Data and Analytics Strategy. As regulatory data stewards for the PRA, RDG employs advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to ensure high standards of data quality are maintained and continuously enhanced. This is essential for continued integrity and effectiveness of our regulatory framework.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that RDG is strategically positioned, appropriately structured, and equipped with the capabilities required, ensuring regulatory data services evolve to support future operating models, technologies and business requirements to meet the evolving challenges and priorities of the Bank. The Senior Manager will set the strategic direction for the group, drive delivery of key outcomes, and provide constructive challenge to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. They will act as a credible and inclusive role model for a diverse and highly skilled team, investing in the development, wellbeing, and success of colleagues to maximise individual and collective performance. As a senior leader within both DSD and DAT, the job holder will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Division and Directorate, contributing actively to leadership discussions, organisational development, and strategic decision-making to ensure RDG, DSD and DAT remain well positioned to meet future business needs.
