- Senior Analyst – Strategy & Innovation (RDID) Location: Leeds
- Overview
This role reports to the Strategy & Innovation team within RDID and focuses on leading innovation engagement, horizon scanning, and translating research findings into actionable cross‑PRA and Bo E initiatives.
The Senior Analyst will work closely with data scientists, supervisors, risk specialists, fintech analysts, and communication leads, and will proactively manage relationships with innovation hubs at other central banks and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct horizon scanning of Reg Tech, emerging technologies, and their potential impact on the UK financial system, providing foresight on disruptive developments.
- Build and nurture stakeholder relationships within the Bank and across the financial sector, acting as a thought leader on emerging technologies.
- Perform risk assessments for new technology deployments, including cyber, operational, and systemic risks, and develop mitigation frameworks aligned with supervisory goals.
- Lead or contribute to proof‑of‑concept initiatives and pilots exploring AI, DLT, quantum computing, and other emerging technologies.
- Prepare detailed papers, presentations, and briefings for senior stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Key Requirements
- Strong understanding of Supervisory Technology (Sup Tech) trends, including AI, DLT, machine learning, and cloud computing.
- In‑depth knowledge of financial regulatory frameworks and their interaction with technological innovation.
- Proven stakeholder management experience with external partners such as central banks, technology firms, and financial institutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with international regulatory initiatives, cross‑industry forums, and leading technology innovation projects in a supervisory context.
- Strong understanding of data science techniques, cloud technologies, and advanced analytics.
- Passion for emerging technologies and their application to financial supervision.
