The global economy is undergoing profound transformation. From geopolitical tensions and climate risk to technological disruption and evolving financial systems, the challenges are complex and the opportunities significant. In the UK, the Government’s mission to drive sustainable growth, investment and innovation demands a resilient financial sector that supports the economy whilst safeguarding stability.

At the heart of this mission is the Bank of England. As the UK’s central bank, we serve the nation by maintaining monetary and financial stability. The Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), a vital part of the Bank, supervises around 1,500 banks, insurers and major investment firms, ensuring their safety and soundness and protecting the economy.

We are now seeking an exceptional leader to become the next Deputy Governor for Prudential Regulation, leading over 1,500 Prudential Regulation Authority staff as their Chief Executive. This is one of the most influential roles in UK financial services, with responsibility for ensuring that the prudential framework and supervisory strategy are fit for purpose and represent the UK globally on regulatory matters.

Reporting to the Governor, Andrew Bailey, you will work closely with fellow Deputy Governors, the FCA, HM Treasury and international partners to ensure the UK’s financial system remains robust, growth-enabling and responsive to emerging risks. You will also be a member of the Bank’s Court of Directors and key policy committees, including the Financial Policy Committee and Prudential Regulation Committee.

We are looking for a visionary leader with deep expertise in financial services, regulation, or central banking and ideally a combination of the three. You will bring strategic insight, sound judgement and a track record of leading complex organisations or systems. You will be a compelling communicator, able to engage across government, industry and the public, and inspire confidence in the PRA’s mission.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of the UK’s financial regulation at a time of global change. Your leadership will help secure the foundations of the UK economy and build trust in the system that underpins it.
