Position Purpose: Manages and administers a portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring asset quality, compliance, and strong client relationships, working closely with Commercial Loan Officers and Credit Officers.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statement spreads.
  • Underwrites commercial new loan and line renewals; analyses financial statements, tax returns, cash flows, and industry data for C&I, CRE, and SBA loans.
  • Assist in structuring new credit requests adhering to policy: develops appropriate loan terms, covenants, pricing.
  • Conduct an annual evaluation of relationships within the portfolio.
  • Monitor portfolio delinquency and assist commercial lenders with calling on existing clients for payments up to 30 days past due.
  • Responsible for monitoring, creating, and updating required financial reporting.
  • Evaluate existing credit relationships and assign/affirm/request the appropriate risk rating based on the assessment of risk concluded through the analysis process.
  • Coordinate approval process with Credit department and in Loan officer’s absence present to approval committee.
  • Review and edit commitment letters ensuring accuracy between commitment letters and approval.
  • Lead at minimum monthly (or as needed) portfolio management meetings with Lenders and lending assistants.
  • Stay well-versed in current economic market trends to provide timely and relevant insights.
  • Assume additional responsibilities, as requested.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse personal and business financial statements and tax returns.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Progressive level of lending experience.
  • Attend seminars/schools required by management.

Working Conditions: The individual will be required to be available after normal working hours. Business travel may be necessary to meet with vendors and attend training opportunities.
