Clearing & Payments department supports the Bank in a back office capacity, supporting the Bank’s operational processing for various banking product, working with retail branches and front office teams to support London Branch and Subsidiary customers.

As a Senior Assistant Settlement & Clearing - Mandarin Speaking, you will be responsible for day-to-day process of Financial Markets Support.

This includes overseeing the full settlement life cycle across a wide range of products ensuring the transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.

This is a full time permanent job.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver relevant settlement of the Financial Markets for products including FX/MM, Interest Rates Swaps, Options, NDF’s and others
  • Ensure all deals are processed accurately and on time
  • Assist in Euroclear/Easyway settlements
  • Collect statistical information for reporting, MI and MTM purposes
  • Investigate and resolve operational and payment issues
  • Assist with the testing and implementation of new systems and system upgrades when required
  • Escalate any unidentified operational risks
  • Uphold high customer satisfaction standards
  • Regularly review, revise and suggest updates to business procedures
  • Assist with regulatory reporting
  • Assist with projects when required
  • Complete tasks and duties as assigned by Management to ensure the continued delivery of Bank of China’s business developments and growth

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or relevant subject
  • Experience in SWIFT Payment Messages both MT and MX (ISO20022) or settlement is preferable
  • Product related experience in Financial Products such as FX/Money Markets/Bonds/Derivatives is a plus
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets products and processes
  • Knowledge of Banking products and associated risks
  • Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills
  • A quick learner and adaptable to change
  • Team player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
