Corporate Banking is a client facing department, responsible for marketing, onboarding and ongoing management of the client relationship, providing loan business to the clients as well as promoting ancillary business according to the Bank’s business strategy and risk appetite. As a Team Head - Real Estate Finance, you will be responsible to develop the Bank’s lending business with clients in this sector in accordance with the Bank’s business strategy, risk and compliance requirements. This is a full time permanent position.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver holistic real estate client coverage as well as drive the cross-sell of various Corporate Banking products including bilateral and syndicated loans, deposits, cash management, derivatives (e.g. interest rate, FX), bond issuance and RMB business.
- As a product expert, oversee the origination and execution of all aspects of Real Estate Finance (REF) investment and development business including structuring, negotiation, credit analysis and documentation.
- Manage and review the preparation of detailed business proposals, credit analysis and financial modelling to drive the business approval process.
- Collaborate with in-house and external lawyers to complete appropriate facility and security documentation.
- Review and provide feedback on property, tax, financial and legal due diligence reports, such as Overview of Certificate on Titles, Right of Lights, Monitoring Surveyor Report, Environmental Report and Valuation Report.
- Implement post-lending management for the REF credit portfolio; regularly monitor the risk profiles of clients in the portfolio alongside industry developments.
- Coordinate inside the Bank to provide high quality products and services to clients.
- Lead the Team to fulfil KYC and KYB requirements, and any other legal and compliance requirements per internal and regulatory policies.
- Lead the Team to complete a variety of other administrative duties to assist the development of client relationships and the smooth operation of the department including maintenance of accurate client/credit files.
- Collaborate with other departments by producing statistics and analysis for the portfolio including management of industry limits.
- Undertake regular market and industry research.
Requirements
- Degree educated or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business or other relevant subject.
- Proven track record in origination, client coverage, portfolio management within REF in a major international banking group.
- Demonstrated management experience in a similar role.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial analysis, industry and strategic analysis in the REF sector.
- Extensive knowledge of all commercial real estate asset classes including offices, logistics, retail, hotels, REITs, social housing, student accommodation and development finance with the UK and ideally the broader EMEA region.
- Deep understanding of finance and security documentation, both bilateral and syndicated.
- Extensive network of third party professionals such as valuers, monitoring surveyors and legal counsel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking products and risks associated with them.
- Proven analytical skills, business judgment and acumen.
- Solid leadership skills with an ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish credibility and trust with stakeholders.
