Clearing & Payments department supports the Bank in a back office capacity, supporting the bankβs operational processing for various banking products, working with retail branches and Front office teams to support London Branch and Subsidiary customers. As a Senior Officer Clearing Middle Office β Mandarin Speaking, you will be performing key checker responsibilities across middle office processes such as Vostro and BGL monitoring, RMA administration, user access controls and clearing-related reporting. You will be providing operational risk and control support, including RCSA activities, KRI reporting, incident management and governance reporting. This is a full time permanent position.
Key responsibilities
- Perform checks on Vostro account operations, maintenance charges, overdraft monitoring and account parameter requests
- Support BGL suspense account monitoring, including reconciliation checks, outstanding-item investigation and periodic reporting
- Oversee RMA-related activities including setup, amendments, reporting, testing and mailbox monitoring
- Support centralised system user access processes, including approval workflows and periodic access reviews
- Assist with EMIR portfolio reconciliation preparation and routing of discrepancy queries
- Contribute to data analysis and preparation of clearing statistics for internal stakeholders and Head Office
- Assist with RCSA activities, including risk and control updates, maintaining control inventories and supporting periodic reviews
- Collect, analyse and record KRI data, and assist with key operational risk reporting
- Support incident and issue management by maintaining trackers, monitoring remediation progress and preparing documentation for ORE reporting
- Contribute to risk MI preparation, COO control reporting and periodic governance submissions
- Assist with policy and procedure monitoring, model risk checks, operational resilience coordination and departmental reporting
Requirements
- Degree educated preferably in Finance, Economics or Accounting or other relevant subject
- Relevant experience in banking operations, middle or back office, or risk and control activities within the Financial Services industry
- Exposure to operational risk concepts (RCSA, KRI, incident reporting) is desirable but not essential
- Understanding of payment operations, reconciliation processes, and operational controls is advantageous
- Excellent English and Mandarin communications skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly organised and able to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
