Financial Crime and Compliance (FC&C) department is responsible for ensuring that all financial crime and compliance risks within the Bank are identified, managed or mitigated. It establishes and maintains the Bank's regulatory communications, compliance risk management, regulatory reporting and compliance advisory. As an Assistant Vice President - Compliance Risk Governance Manager, you will be responsible to provide specialist Project Risk and Control Support focusing on the embedment of Conduct Risk and Compliance Risk Management. This is a 12 month fixed term contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure embedment of conduct and compliance risk taxonomy in Operational Risk Management (ORM) Toolkit
- Coordinate completion and oversight of 1st line of defence (1LOD) Conduct and Compliance self-risk assessments, ensuring these are delivered in line with agreed deadlines
- Provide training on conduct and compliance self-risk assessment methodology
- Assist with building a suite of MI, coordinate allocation of MI ownership and oversight of MI deliverables required to assess Conduct and Compliance Risk
- Ensure appropriate mapping of controls and gap analysis against conduct and compliance risk taxonomy
- Report and escape compliance risks in accordance with internal governance requirement
- Provide clear, actionable updates for senior leadership, forums and committees on a regular basis
- Contribute and support with updating relevant policies and frameworks
Requirements
- Degree educated in Finance, Business, Economics or other relevant subjects
- Solid experience in Enterprise-wide Risk Management, Risk Control Mapping or Conduct/Compliance Risk Management in a banking industry
- Experience in Project Management is preferred but not essential
- Understanding of UK financial regulations, rules, risks and typologies
- Able to work collaboratively and build relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
- Flexible, adaptable and solution oriented
- Can exercise independence of judgment and autonomy
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills
