Operations Services department provides processing support for the front line business units handling trade finance, loan and cash management products. The department also includes the Operations Resilience and Operation Control teams which are responsible for overseeing the Bank's resilience programme and managing user rights for certain systems.

As an Assistant - Trade Settlement, you will be responsible for administering the delivery of all functions within the Trade Services department, primarily processing Bank Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit and Import/Export Letters of Credit. This is a 12 month full time fixed term contract position.

Key responsibilities
  • Process daily workload which includes Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections and Guarantees, both import and export financing including negotiations, discounts, loans, risk sale and purchase.
  • Perform four eye checks on work processed by other colleagues.
  • Keep customer files up to date.
  • Assist in handling ancillary tasks including post, courier, filing, SWIFT messages, archiving, and other daily processes.
  • Prepare information requested for monthly, quarterly and half yearly statistics for the department and Head Office.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed within time frame and within rules and regulations, e.g. UCP, ISBP and URDG.
  • Provide assistance and advice to customers in relation to trade services products and assist domestic and overseas branches as well as other banks with any queries when required.
  • Cover team members when required.
Requirements
  • Degree educated in Economics, Finance, Banking or other relevant subject.
  • Proven track record in a similar business stream.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Highly organised and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office particularly in the use of Excel and Word.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player who is able to use their own initiative and work independently.
