Custody Business function aims to expand Bank of China (BOC) Group's network of UK sub-custodians to increase BOC London Branch's Assets under Custody, while also collaborating with other market infrastructure providers (ICSDs) to build BOC London Branch's market capabilities. The Function is responsible for Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Pricing and Operations Processing. Custody Services team is responsible for the safekeeping and administration of financial assets, primarily by financial institutions like banks or trust companies, on behalf of individuals or institutions. As an Associate – Custody Business Operations, you will support the Custody Services team's operations and key projects. You will play an active role in supporting the growth and development of the Custody Services team's products and capabilities. This is a full time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and monitor custody-related trade instructions, including settlement of securities transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing while adhering to market deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage corporate action events, ensuring accurate client entitlements and timely communication.
  • Perform daily operational controls, reconciliations and checklists.
  • Process payments associated with Custody Business.
  • Investigate operational breaks, failed settlements, reconciliation exceptions, and payment discrepancies, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to achieve timely resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to control obligations, demonstrating understanding, awareness and proactive management of operational risk.
  • Support with project coordination responsibilities.
  • Organise project-related meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes, systems, and client experience.
  • Support the team with creation and execution of test cases and testing documents.
  • Capture statistical information for reporting and Management Information.
  • Investigate and resolve any processing issues and general queries.

Requirements

  • Degree level educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other relevant subject.
  • Experience in Custody business (Trading Settlement/Corporate Action) or related business experience in the Financial Services, ideally within Banking.
  • Experience or knowledge of Custody Payments or Clearing Services is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Highly organised and able to multi-task.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment whilst being able to deliver high quality work.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proactive team player.
  • Attention to detail.
