Job Description:
Description
Merrill Wealth Management is a leading provider of comprehensive wealth management and investment products and services for individuals, companies, and institutions. Merrill Wealth Management is one of the largest businesses of its kind in the world, specializing in goals-based wealth management, including planning for retirement, education, legacy, and other life goals through investment advice and guidance.
Merrill’s Financial Advisors and Wealth Management Client Associates help clients pursue the life they envision through a personal relationship with their advisory team committed to their needs. We believe trust comes from transparency. Our trusted advisory teams are equipped with access to Merrill\’s investment insights coupled with Bank of America’s banking convenience.
At Merrill, we empower you to bring your whole self to work. We value diversity in our thoughts, business, and within our employees and clients. Our Wealth Management team represents diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives, ideas, and experiences, creating a culture-driven, resilient, results-focused, and effective work environment.
As a Financial Solutions Advisor within the centralized segment of the Advisor Development Program, your journey begins with obtaining your Securities Industry licenses, including dedicated classes for Securities Industry Essentials [SIE], Series 7, and Series 66 Exams. After obtaining your licenses, you will learn foundational skills needed to be an advisor—building and managing client relationships, considering complex financial pictures, and guiding clients with advice and solutions to help them live their best financial lives, humanizing financial interactions. You will then join the centralized team as a Financial Solutions Advisor.
The Financial Solutions Advisors in the centralized segment are phone-based licensed advisors providing clients with holistic financial advice and guidance by identifying broader product and service solutions that meet their investment, savings, and liability management needs. They demonstrate knowledge of investments and financial markets and apply key principles appropriate to individual client needs, aligning Merrill and Bank of America products where suitable. We will provide all necessary training as you progress through the stages of development toward the Merrill Financial Advisor role.
During this stage, you will receive training and guidance through a defined path to become a financial advisor. You will have opportunities to work with both affluent and high-net-worth clients, identifying needs, developing relationships, reviewing investment goals, and preparing investment recommendations aligned with client objectives. Once you demonstrate success as an FSA, you will typically progress into the Merrill Financial Solutions Advisor (MFSA) role. This program offers a pathway to a career within Merrill Wealth Management.
The Academy supports your journey with dedicated programs, tools, and resources throughout your career.
We’ll help you:
- Build a successful career at Bank of America through world-class training and onboarding programs.
- Get training and coaching from Academy managers invested in your success.
- Grow your business knowledge using a consultative approach to identify client needs and solutions.
- Earn your Security Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 licenses through structured lessons. You must obtain your SIE within 60 days of hire and Series 7 & 66 within 120 days.
- Build your network by interacting with banking customers, small business owners, and high-net-worth clients, leveraging our relationships to grow your business.
- Provide comprehensive advice, deliver client reviews confidently, and recommend strategies to meet financial goals.
- Collaborate with banking and investment partners to meet clients’ financial needs through Bank of America and Merrill solutions.
As an Advisor Development Program Financial Solutions Advisor in the centralized segment, you can look forward to:
- Unlimited potential for financial growth.
- A strong referral base across the business.
- Managing a client portfolio with industry-leading products and services.
- Robust marketing support to reach wider audiences.
- Ongoing professional development to deepen your skills.
- Opportunities to connect with experts like small business consultants, mortgage lenders, and investment advisors.
We’re a culture that:
- Believes in responsible growth and community support.
- Provides continuous training and development opportunities.
- Values diversity to reflect and meet the needs of our diverse clients.
- Is committed to advancing tools, technology, and client-focused ways of working.
Required Qualifications:
- Confidence in sales roles
- Strong client relationship skills
- Proactive mindset and effective time management
- Results-driven with a focus on client interests
- Ability to identify client solutions and apply regulatory due diligence
Desired Qualifications:
