The Teams
Global Markets
The Global Markets Chief Operating Office (COO) organisation has groups aligned to both specific lines of business across Sales and Trading and Centralised Functions. COO’s goal is to be a strategic and trusted advisor to Global Markets heads of businesses, holding a stake in the success of the organisation. Our teams covering client and business strategy, data and project management, risk and controls management are dedicated to understanding the unique complexity of each business and ensuring they operates efficiently to meet our goals.
Global Banking
The Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) Regulatory Strategy designs and manages the strategy for regulatory adherence and new implementations for the business within GCIB Central Chief Operating Office as well as providing Data Management and Single Process and Operational Excellence oversight. Its coverage is anchored in the principal of first-line ownership with the goal to drive engagement and implementation coordination for GCIB. Where required, the team partners with additional teams in GCIB and control areas such as legal, compliance, operations to provide a holistic and interconnected process.
Programme Overview
As a Summer Analyst you will join one of our Global Banking and Markets COO groups, gaining insight and supporting a variety of new initiatives, projects and day-to-day activities. You will benefit from direct exposure to a breath of products and services within Global Markets and connect with business partners across the world.
Training and Development
Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the program, in addition to, on the job support, educational speaker events and continued mentorship.
Responsibilities
As a summer analyst, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Working on several projects at once and being effective as an individual and as part of a team
- Developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets and databases
- Documentation and review, including deal files and other legally required documentation
- Preparation of senior management presentations and other materials for internal clients
- Performing various analytical tasks, including operational loss analysis, reporting gap analysis, trade surveillance and supervision & analysis of the firm’s financial resources (Capital & Liquidity)
- Communication and interaction with team members and senior leaders across the Global Markets COO teams
Eligibility
- Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between September 2026 and July 2027. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation. Please note that we reserve the right to request evidence of this completion date before extending an offer
- Achieved a minimum of 112 UCAS point (or equivalent) and are on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
- Candidates who perform well during the internship may be offered full time employment to commence in July 2027; some lines of business may also offer the opportunity of a January or April start date. You must be available to join on one of these start dates if offered, unfortunately we are unable to offer deferrals
