Core responsibilities for Operations Support

  • Input of Client & Account Data into ABCIB Systems ensuring accuracy and complying that all appropriate documentation and KYC requirements are in place.
  • Update the unblocking and re blocking of Dormant, Sanctioned and Operational accounts.
  • Manage the inputting of all other static data in ABCIB Systems as required (ie Holiday Data, Currencies, Receivables data, SSI’s etc).
  • Collation of statements to be distributed to clients via mail or encrypted e-mail.
  • Compiling the Audit requests/Balance confirmations received by ABCIB on behalf of Clients ensuring a timely turnaround.
  • Assist with yearly audits.
  • Manage internal/ external system access.
  • Periodic recertification for users on internal/ external systems.
  • Contact clients via telephone to complete callbacks for payment instructions with appropriate checks to ensure no fraudulent payment is made.
  • Single Customer View (SCV) file preparation process during monthly internal tests, ad-hoc training and PRA requests.
  • Reconciliation of Deposit aggregators balances.
  • Assist with the drafting of OREs and the implementation of any findings.
  • Housekeeping of SWIFT message queues.
  • Front Office/Back Office Reconciliation. (FOBO)
  • Control SWIFT RMA, SWIFT Messaging and rerouting for IB and SA.
  • Stock/Security Accounts – Monthly reconciliation of all ABCIB London security positions held at our depositories against our internal records.
  • Assist department head with projects and other ad hoc tasks as and when needed.
  • Implementing process improvements for the department on a yearly basis aka (FIKRAS).
  • Maintain and update procedures as required.
  • Performing and oversight of Reconciliations as per department procedures
  • Nostro Accounts:
  • Daily/Monthly Nostro Reconciliation workflow sign-off
  • Daily production of MI reporting / escalation of outstanding items
  • Monthly production of Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s)
  • Suspense Accounts – Responsible for ensuring that all active suspense accounts are signed-off by the designated owner monthly and sending the completed declarations to the Head of Finance
  • Performing various Middle Office functions including:
  • Reviewing counterparty limit excesses
  • Monitoring FX positions
  • Checking daily and month end revaluation rates
  • Monitoring FX P&L
  • Treasury Confirmation Matching oversight
  • Performing a Trade Surveillance function to mitigate the risk of inappropriate activity by the dealing room.

Candidate Specification:

  • Banking knowledge
  • Good understanding of the bank and its products
  • Knowledge of Internal Control processes
  • Must be educated to at least A Level or equivalent
  • Good general working experience of the Banking and IT system environment
  • 2-5 years Operational and T&TR experience
  • FCA / Regulatory change
  • Good communication Skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, often to tight deadlines
  • Able to perform multiple tasks concurrently
  • Pro-active and forward thinking
