Base pay range

£ up to £55K per annum (competitive) based on skills and experience.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years proven experience in advanced site carpentry/joinery (residential & commercial).
• Expertise fitting doors/frames, precision ironmongery, and complex lock mechanisms (mechanical & electronic).
• High level problem solving, fault finding; excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Confident reading drawings, taking accurate measurements, and performing precise calculations on site.
• Customer‑facing professionalism—clear communication, courteous conduct, and pride in workmanship.
• Good understanding of locksmithing, or ability to pass MLA assessment.
• CSCS or ECS card.
• Understanding of British Standards.
• Some plastering / patching skills / making good.
• Valid UK driving licence and flexibility to cover M4 Corridor.
• Basic IT literacy (email, job apps, documentation).

What will you be doing?

• Installing doors and door sets made from timber and metal, including fire doors according to standards.
• Re‑hanging and repairing doors/frames using hardwood and softwood, fitting plinths, cut‑outs, hinges, closers, viewers and premium door furniture.
• Fitting a full range of ironmongery such as window locks, mortise bolts, tubular latches.
• Installing locks on doors and windows to British Standards.
• Non‑destructive opening of non‑Banham locks and servicing/adjusting existing locks.
• Fitting and changing other lock brands.
• Measuring bespoke metalwork jobs (railings, gates) and producing detailed drawings/specs.
• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications; collaborating with Sales and Installations Desks.
• Completing job sheets/PDA reports accurately and on time.
• Maintaining tools and vehicle to a high standard; upholding a professional image with customers.
• Working independently and within teams; mentoring trainee fitters when required.
