As an Apprentice Fire and Security Technician with Banham you will have the opportunity to become a qualified engineer whilst gaining your Level 3 certificate and continuing your career with a business that has been established for almost 100 years. Alongside studying within the Banham Academy on a block-release basis, you will work alongside qualified engineers across Maintenance, Service, and installation departments out in the field and have a dedicated mentor and guide assigned to you that will be there to support you through your journey with us! What can you bring to Banham?
Your desire to learn and succeed is paramount and will enable you to succeed in achieving your level 3 and qualified Engineer status. You will also show that you can:
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Shadow experienced field engineers at customer sites
- Perform site risk assessments in line with safety rules
- Install, service & maintain appropriate equipment
- Adhere to safe working practices & take instruction
- Use power tools, lift / carry equipment & climb ladders
- Happy to work at Heights
- Grade C / 4 or above in Maths and English (desired not essential)
Key Information :
You will be trained to install, service and maintain Intruder Alarms, Video Surveillance systems, Access Control & Fire Alarm systems.
Training is provided by Banham Academy on a block-release basis. and you will undertake an End Point Assessment in your final year.
During your first year, you will shadow engineers out in the field and you will need to ensure you arrange your travel each morning to meet your designated engineer on time on a daily basis
In your second year you will be provided with a company Van and will require a full UK driving licence (no more than 6pts) – or working towards gaining this before your second year.

- Assessment day will be held on Friday 26th September – you must be available to attend on this date if selected.
- Start Date Monday 3rd November2025
