We are looking for an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance team. In this role, you will take ownership of your own ledger, working collaboratively with various departments to reduce outstanding debt and improve cash collection performance. As a Credit Controller, you will:
- Manage your own customer ledger, ensuring effective debt recovery and minimising aged debt.
- Meet collection targets by ensuring customers pay within agreed payment terms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through professional and effective communication.
- Conduct customer due diligence, assessing and monitoring ongoing credit risk.
- Produce aged debtor reports and maintain accurate records of collection activity and follow-up actions.
- Resolve account queries promptly and efficiently in line with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support debt reduction and query resolution.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Adapt to changing business priorities and support the wider Accounts Receivable function when required.
To be successful in this role, you will have (Essential Experience & Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years' credit control experience.
- Proven experience managing your own ledger independently.
- Strong track record of achieving collection targets and reducing aged debt.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in both B2B and B2C collections.
- Knowledge of Sage X3 and Sage CRM would be advantageous, although not essential.
