We’re expanding our expert installations team and looking for an experienced Carpenter with lock fitting expertise to carry out high-quality work across residential and commercial sites covering Swindon, the M4 Corridor and the surrounding areas.

What we are looking for:
- 5+ years’ proven experience in advanced site carpentry/joinery (residential & commercial).
- Demonstrable expertise fitting doors/frames, precision ironmongery, and complex lock mechanisms (mechanical & electronic).
- High level problem solving and fault finding; excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Confident reading drawings, taking accurate measurements, and performing precise calculations on site.
- Customer-facing professionalism—clear communication, courteous conduct, and pride in workmanship.
- A good understanding of locksmithing would be beneficial (or at a level to pass MLA assessment successfully).
- CSCS or ECS card.
- Understanding of British Standards.
- Some plastering / patching skills / making good.
- Valid UK driving licence and flexibility to cover geographical remit (M4 Corridor).
- Basic IT literacy for email, job apps, and documentation.
What will you be doing?
- Installing doors and door sets made from various materials, timber and metal as well as, understand how to install fire doors and frames to a standard (training can be provided).
- Re hanging of doors, repairing doors/frames using hard wood and softwood, safe plinths, cut-outs for letter plates, hinges, closers, viewers and premium door furniture.
- Fitting a full range of ironmongery such as window locks and mortise bolts, handles with tubular latches.
- Installing locks (including Banham and other leading brands) on doors and windows to British Standards.
- Non Destructive opening of non Banham locks and servicing / adjusting existing locks.
- Able to fit and change other brands of locks.
- Measuring bespoke metalwork jobs such as railings and gates and producing detailed drawings/specs with precise measurements and calculations for manufacturing.
- Reading /interpreting plans, drawings and specifications; collaborating with Sales and Installations Desks to prepare and execute your schedule efficiently.
- Completing job sheets/PDA reports accurately and on time.
- Maintaining tools/vehicle to a high standard; upholding a professional image with customers.
- Working independently and within teams; mentor trainee fitters when required.
