Applications are invited for the full‑time, fixed‑term maternity cover post in the Recruitment Marketing Team. The successful candidate will strengthen our approach to student recruitment and, as part of a sector‑leading team, will coordinate and produce high‑quality marketing content and materials to build relationships with prospective students throughout the recruitment journey. The role includes coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate course information for prospective students.
The candidate will be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience) and will be a confident communicator with excellent copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills. Experience coordinating and producing marketing material, strong organisational skills, and an understanding of the University's target audiences are essential. Fluency in Welsh is required. The role is based on campus at Bangor, with flexibility to work remotely within the UK.
Purpose of the Job
Develop and manage a range of content that creatively and effectively tells the brand story of Bangor University in a student recruitment context. Lead the development of online content that supports the student recruitment journey across written narrative, video, and photography, designed for use across a variety of on‑ and offline media and tailored to specific audiences. Coordinate the updating and development of course information online, supporting the University to raise awareness of who and what Bangor University is for a Welsh, English, and wider UK audience.
Responsibilities
- Create a Content Development Plan to meet the University's recruitment marketing needs.
- Co‑ordinate and update undergraduate and postgraduate course information for use on the University website and external course‑listing sites such as UCAS.
- Develop visual content, including video and photographic material, aligned with the University's Corporate Identity.
- Produce creative content for recruitment campaigns, ensuring relevance and engagement across print and digital media.
- Work with external agencies to plan, develop and deliver marketing material in a range of formats.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues in Communications, Recruitment and International to support integrated content delivery.
- Work with alumni colleagues to develop plans and content celebrating alumni success.
- Develop and manage the University's content asset library.
- Work with colleagues to develop digital assets for use in recruitment and marketing.
- Manage external agencies delivering design, production or related creative services.
- Report regularly on the performance of digital assets and use insights to improve outcomes.
- Produce content in Welsh and English, ensuring a Welsh‑First approach to Welsh versions.
- Research audience content needs and analyse how messaging is received and interpreted.
- Present findings to senior managers.
- Manage budgets and staff as required.
- Monitor sector trends and competitor activity relating to marketing content.
- Support the University's Clearing process as part of the wider recruitment team.
- Represent the University at UK recruitment events, UCAS fairs and presentations.
- Travel within the UK where required.
- Support Dynamic Working by working from home where appropriate.

- Essential: Proven experience in a content development role with evidence of positive impact on brand awareness and engagement.
- Experience developing content across multiple channels, including content tailored for Welsh‑speaking audiences.
- Experience writing content in multiple formats, including long‑form and short‑form copy, and producing video and photographic content.
- Experience managing video and photographic shoots for high‑quality outputs.
- Experience managing creative agencies.
- Experience setting up and running systems for storing and managing content.
- Desirable: Experience of content development in a large, complex organisation.
- Experience in a similar role within higher education.

- Essential: Ability to speak and write Welsh fluently in a wide variety of situations.
