The School of Health Sciences is offering a full‑time, permanent opportunity for an aspiring or experienced lecturer to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area, and it is desirable that candidates have current registration with a relevant healthcare professional body (e.g. the NMC, HCPC). This post is suitable for applicants who can support the delivery of the School’s leadership and management modules at pre‑registration and post‑graduate programmes.

The School of Health Sciences is an interprofessional school within the College of Medicine and Health, providing health and care education and research. It partners with health, social and educational care providers to enable a comprehensive clinical and academic experience for children’s nursing students. The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and short courses for health and care and allied professionals. An Athena Swan Bronze award is held in recognition of commitment to gender equality within the University’s policies, practices, and culture.

Welsh language ability is desirable for this post.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to teaching and learning across the School’s portfolio of undergraduate programmes through interprofessional modules.
  • Support the delivery of the School’s leadership and management modules at pre‑registration and post‑graduate programmes.
  • Contribute to wider delivery to reflect their professional and teaching specialisms.
  • Engage in student support and mentorship, as part of the School’s commitment to student-centred learning and interprofessional education ethos.
  • Participate in induction, academic mentorship, and opportunities to undertake a PGCERT in Advanced HE leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
  • Contribute to a teaching and scholarship career track and collaborate with colleagues to foster partnership working with the regional health and care sector.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Current registration with a relevant healthcare professional body (desirable).
  • Ability to communicate in Welsh (desirable).
  • Commitment to interprofessional education and student-centred learning.
