Dawsons AV, approaching its 100th year in business and a Bang & Olufsen partner since the 1960s, is looking for a commercially minded AV professional to join its Bournemouth showroom. This is not a traditional retail role. Instead, it’s an opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership, build relationships, and drive new business across premium residential and bespoke installation projects. You’ll represent Bang & Olufsen at the heart of the showroom, while also working across a wider portfolio of high-end AV and smart home solutions.
This position blends consultative selling, technical expertise, and business development. You’ll work closely with the owner and wider team to identify new opportunities, grow client relationships, and deliver exceptional AV experiences from luxury homes to superyachts. Think less transactional retail and more running your own business from within an established, premium showroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving new business through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship building (B2C and emerging B2B opportunities).
- Leading end-to-end AV projects, from initial consultation through to design, specification, and delivery.
- Working on high-value installations, including home cinema projects (£40K–£100K+) and fully integrated smart homes.
- Collaborating with internal specialists and partners on larger or more complex system designs.
- Supporting and hosting client events, demonstrations, and showroom experiences.
- Strengthening the store’s presence through local marketing, social media, and partnerships.
- Maintaining the highest standards of service aligned with a luxury brand experience.
What you bring:
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical credibility and commercial drive. You might currently be working for an AV integrator, a specialist retailer, or even running your own small business. You’ll likely have experience or strong understanding of:
- Control systems (ideally Crestron, Control4, or similar)
- Integrated home technologies (lighting, HVAC, networking, CCTV, automated blinds, access control)
- Home cinema design and high-end audio systems
- Customer-led solution selling in a premium or bespoke environment
Furthermore, you are:
- Appreciative of music, film, design, and craftsmanship is essential, this is a world where experience matters as much as specification.
